Vedicsys President Vijay Sabbineni is pleased to announce that Michael Calabrese joined Vedicsys in February 2009 as our Federal Contracts Manager. Mr. Calabrese is a government contracting professional offering over 20 years experience in federal government relations, sales and client services.

Michael comes to Vedicsys from Labat-Anderson, Inc where he served as Manager for Information Services under contract to the US EPA National Service Center for Environmental Publications (NSCEP) in Cincinnati and produced winning RFP responses gaining over $46 million in military and civilian contract awards.

While at Labat, Michael provided operational management of the US EPA National Contact Center; participated in the development of a proprietary work and inventory management system and over saw the largest publications distribution efforts in the agency's history. He provided project management for:

• The US EPA initiative to re-supply the Iraq Ministry of Environment with 15 years of environmental science and regulatory documentation
• Managed the inter-agency single-project distribution of 4.17 million publications, reducing the postal costs by $155,000 for this effort
• Provided Document Solutions to the US EPA Library Network of 28 regional and specialty libraries.

Prior to his tenure at Labat, Michael was employed by the Institute for Scientific Information in Philadelphia, Pa – selling advanced library research software and internet solutions to government (DoD, NASA, NOAA, EPA, USDA, USGS among others) and the academic community and academic consortia such as OHIOLink and SUNY.

• Negotiated sale of library research data packages to the Sorros Foundation (NYC) for placement in the Ukraine, Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian National Libraries.
• Awarded Salesman of the year (1998)

Earlier in his career, Michael served as Director for Public Information at the National Space Society. He brings a deep understanding of military and civilian space systems and international legal issues.
